The so-called Department of Government Efficiency — that Musk vanity project dressed up like a budget office — tried to cancel more than fourteen hundred humanities grants worth over a hundred million. They swung at anything that smelled like a minority group, a foreign accent, a god that wasn’t theirs, a body that didn’t fit the approved silhouette.
